Acumen Waste Services is pleased to announce our commercial partnership with fellow waste management company Yorwaste, resulting in a £500,000 upgrade to a liquid waste treatment facility on the outskirts of York.
The day-to-day running of the Harewood Whin facility will fall to Acumen as we take on the operational responsibility for the liquid waste site. With current capacity for up to 25,000 tonnes of waste each year, the facility will be able to take waste generated by industrial and commercial business sectors including engineering, automotive, power generation, petrochemical and other sectors involved with the safe and economical treatment of wastes such as water, sludges, silts and oils.
The initial 15-year agreement includes a investment of £500,00 from Acumen for the upgrade of the liquid treatment plant. In return, Yorwaste will continue to receive a revenue from the facility.

Liquid waste brought to the facility undergoes numerous treatment processes to separate the various elements so these elements can be further recycled, reused or secondarily treated.
