Acumen operates a full Permitted waste treatment facility at York. This facility has been designed from the offset to provide an alternative to landfill disposal by offering non-landfill waste treatment and recovery facilities for a variety of waste streams including those with physical, chemical and biological contaminants.

The full permitted waste treatment facility is situated at: The Old Brick & Tile Works, Ricall Road, Escrick, York YO19 6ED (see map at bottom of this article).

This facility has been designed from the offset to provide an alternative to landfill disposal by offering non-landfill waste treatment and recovery facilities for a variety of waste streams including those with physical, chemical and biological contaminants.

The site is permitted to accept up to 250,000 tonnes per annum of wastes.

The site benefits from the following facilities:

Hard paved access, weighbridge, wheelwash, concrete tipping area (can accept articulated tipping vehicles), impermeable storage areas wastes awaiting treatment, variety of treatment and recovery options, processing plant for wide variety of feedstock, end of waste opportunities.

Typical waste streams include: Road sweeping and gully wastes; Contaminated soils; Power station residues; Construction and demolition wastes; Contaminated sludges; Mixed organic and waste treatment facility wastes.
