Construction - Case Study 3
Large construction contract called for highly effective waste management partner. Acumen proved it had the operational and strategic credentials
This Acumen customer is a national construction company which undertakes major contracts throughout the UK.
The company secured a government contract to re-furbish a number of government offices. The company was advised that successful performance could lead to them being awarded additional work in a variety of other locations.
Our customer knew that a key factor to the extension of such a prestigious contract would be their ability to achieve stringent waste minimisation targets. For this, they needed help in developing and implementing sustainable recycling initiatives.
The company needed to be sure that their waste services provider:
- achieved greater than 70% recycling of all waste material generated from all sites
- provided bespoke monthly reporting of key performance indicators, by type, and percentage scoring on actual recycling achieved, on a site by site basis
- provided a single point of contact to ensure ease of seamless service. This was particularly important as many of the offices were in city centre locations where access space and time were limited
Acumen was selected by the company at the start of their Government contract. We were selected because we were the only provider who could:
- deliver a solution which could achieve the challenging recycling targets in relation to the waste material being produced
- provide the in-depth monthly reporting in a timely manner
- attend each site and agree a logistical strategy for every set of premises
- provide a single point of contact for ease of communication
Acumen proved that only they could deliver each of the exacting requirements that the company needed from a strategic service partnership.
The success of this partnership has assisted the company in extending this prestigious contract.
As a result, Acumen provides waste management services to this company for all of its new contracts.
