That is why, when our largest retail customer was preparing to open a new flag ship store based in Scotland, Acumen were on hand to design a tailored waste management plan that suited their needs.
A number of challenges faced the team when preparing for the strip out and full refurbishment. The store was located on a heavily pedestrianised street at the front, and a busy junction at the rear. Therefore, Acumen had to apply for a compound to safely and compliantly remove the waste, this was in turn denied by the council. After some careful planning and input from our experts, it was decided that instead of having skips continually sited, we would use internal wheelie bins to store the waste and arrange a wait and load system for removing the waste.
Public safety was as the forefront of the operation at all times and Acumen’s waste management experts ensured proper Health and Safety measures were in place, particularly due to the kerbside collections of the waste.
